Carburetor too small??

I have a 68 galaxie, with a 428fe
I recently had a holly list 4548 put in and I feel like its choking my engine and the idle sounds too slow. Is it possible 450 CFM is too small for my engine?
What is the recommended size I should use?

Yes, 450 cfm is way too small for your FE. Likely 750 cfm would be more in the right ballpark, as IIRC the afctory piece was rated @ 735 cfm.

I've run larger carbs on 2.8L V6s, and have tuned 4 cylinder Pintos with 600cfm carbs,
a 750 would be in the ball park for a stock 428... My Capri is running a 750cfm carb,
and it's a little 302 ci V8...
