Post Cartalk Question?

OK ... This really isn't a hotrod question, but I'll bet most of you guys have the answer!

The family hauler, a 95 Dodge Caravan, has a vaccum leak; at least I think it is a vaccum leak. Whe I stomp too hard on the pedal, like going up a hill, the A/C vent shifts on its own to defrost. When I let up, it goes back to normal vent. I figure either a ghost or a vaccum leak.

1. Does it sound like a vaccum leak to you guys?

2. I've wiggled all the little hoses and don't see anything obvious. Can a driveway mechanic check for vaccum leaks with the camp-stove gas bottle and a piece of hose without launching himself into orbit or finding truth and meaning in life? Has anyone ever tried this? Are you all a bunch smarter than I am and would never try this?? Believe me ... any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

You most likely have a bad vacuum canister.
