Carter AFB

I have a carter AFB comp series carb on my engine and when I shut my key off it smokes out of the carb. I know that if it were a holley I could fix this by adjusting the floats but on a carter I have no idea how to adjust it. If anyone has any info let me know. also If you know how to adjust the idle mixture I need to know that too.
Thanks,
Daryl

You will need to remove the lid to adjust the floats. It's not hard, just takes a few minutes. It could also have a bad float causing a high fuel level OR could also be overheated under the carb causing the fuel to boil during a "hot soak" after shutting off. Could be too much fuel pressure too.
