Carter AFB boost referencing?

In a blow-thru turbo setup using a Carter AFB, how are the needles boost referenced? Of course, the AFB's use a needle and jet rather then a power valve like the Holley's, but they both work in the same way. Since the Holley power valve needs to be boost referenced, one assumes that the Carter needles will also need referencing.

But how..? Anyone know?

In a blow thru situation I though you enclosed the whole carb in a box. That way the carb is in the same atmosphere as the incoming air.
