Carter Aluminum 4 Barrel Carb.

Hey Everyone;

I'm a Ford Enthusiast! I have my eyes on a 66 galaxy 2 door! I'm sure you all will be a great help and I'm looking forward to a great fellowship!
I'm a mailman who will be retiring soon and can't imagine having buku free time!

I have a Carter AFB Competition Series Carb with the ID: 9605S 0885. I do know that the 9605s is a 650 cfm rating and hope the 0885 is a Ford Application but I'm not sure? Does any one know?

Thanks,

Choppy

The 9605 is 625 CFM,the 0885 is a date code it was built in Aug 1985.These are great Carbs to work with, internally your 9605 and the Edelbrock Performer 1405 share the same specs and the Edelbrock parts will interchange with your Carter so the tuning kits and gasket kits interchange, oddly even though the venturi sizes are the same Edelbrock rates the Performer 1405 as 600 CFM.Your 9605 is not Ford specific it is a universal linkage, if your Ford has a C4 or C6 transmission it will need an Edelbrock kickdown bracket,the Carters with electric chokes were different 9635's were universal and GM friendly the 9636 was for Mopars and the 9637 was for Fords both the 9636 and 9637's featured integral kickdown linkage.
