Carter carb

Hi.
I wanted to change my old Rochester 4bbl(on Chevy 350) with another carb and the only brand except Rochester is Carter which i can find here.
My old Rochester is not in good shape and the uses much fuel.
I can buy Edelbrock 600cfm from USA too but it costs me alot.
Now,is it good idea to use a re manufactured Carter? i heard that these Carters were used originally on Mopar but will work on Chevy 350 too...!!??
By the way can i use Edelbrock intakes with Carter carbs??

Carters were used on SBC 327's in 1966 but were never used on chevy's after that. If the carb is not a direct bolt-on, you can buy adapter plates to make it work.
