carter intake manifolds

I was talking to a guy yesterday thet mentioned he had two Carter intakes for SBC. I did some searching online and can't find any info on them just wondering if it is worth looking into and if they are decent from a performance aspect.

I suspect what he was saying is that he has two intake manifolds that will mount square-bore Carter carburetors, as opposed to spread-bore carburetors like the Quadrajet.

The Carter WCFB was a "small" bolt pattern Carter carb. They were used alot before the AFB and square bore Holley came along. The dual four SBC up to the early 60's used them, even w/two of them, the total was less than 800 CFM. They all could be considered to be "air valve secondary" carbs, although "AVS" as a term wasn't used until relatively recently, IIRC.

IIRC the WCFB shared the same bolt pattern as the Holley 6000, aka "Flaming Toilet Bowl":
