Cassette Delima?

I feel like I'm either going back in time or maybe just stuck there? I just traded my 01 Ford Ranger that had a CD & cassette player for an 05 Explorer Sport Trac with just a CD player. I have over 300 cassette tapes; some about half are not available on CD now. i've seached to see if there is a cassette covertor type device I could use in the Explorer with no luck. I'd welcome any input/suggestions on how I can ejoy my cassettes in my new ride. Thanks, Al

Look for the optional CD/cassette player that Ford offered at least through '03 or possibly as late as '05. Most of these are interchangeable through '05. Ford did some dash rearrangements in '06. Here's one on Ebay:

I have the same problem, but have an '06 F350 so am stuck with a couple hundred cassettes that will go for swap meet selling or use in the wiffy's Escape

In Canada, The Source sells a device that you can hook a cassette player or and analogue source to and then into the USB port on your computer to digitize your cassettes. The one we sell in Canada is made by ION and sells for $79.99 here. Hope that helps.

you don't need anything special to digitize cassettes. just the line in port on a computer, cheap cassette deck and some cheap or free audio recording software.. some altho not cheap will automaticly split the tracks, but if you got time, Audacity is free and when you blow up the wave form you can see the splits real easy as there is a 'tick' right dead center of the quiet spots if it's track change.. right now I'm working on digitizing my vinyl collection, and it's pretty much the same deal..

otherwise, you gotta get the radio Irelands Child suggested but you have to make sure your radio has the same connections.. that radio requires a factory Amp, which is the larger connector. if your radio has that slot but no pins inside, you will need more parts to use that radio. there is the more basic internal amp version of that radio in existence, but there is also a more complex Mach version of that radio, which will have another set of connectors.. I don't belive Pioneer made 1 of those radios but if they did, the radio face would say Pioneer

Yep, convert them over to disc, no more worries of the player "eating" a tape anymore either
