cast or forged parts for english wheel

i was thinking about making an english wheel and i was going to use a stock caster from a Grainger catalog as the upper wheel. the dimensions are almost the same as the actual wheels from an english wheel, 6" diameter 2" width 3/4 axle, the only thing is that they have a slight crown to them, but ill put the in a lathe and take care of that. the price is around 45.00 for a forged steel and about 20 for a cast iron

my question is should i use forged steel or cast iron?
