882's will flow the best but do not like to get hot and if that is a concern go with the 441

Most 882's are cracked or will crack shortly or are on a running engine- cracked. I you MUST use GM castings, use the 441's. (or 041's)

Just an FYI, you can probably get into a pair of NEW World Sportsman castings for roughly the same money as totally re-furbing GM stuff. Not to mention the power increase.

I would not use any of them for a low budget racer.
Except maybe to trade for something better.

For a low budget build you want to start with a smallest combustion chamber possible.
easier/cheaper to build compresssion on a budget 350.

58cc 305 heads are a dime a dozen. I just picked up another set compete usable with rockers for a wapping $10. DeLiVeReD. hard to go wrong there. They port up great for a stock head and really flow with larger 1.94x 1.60" valves and a full home brewed port effort. Over 230cfm. I'd bet you could come up with 8 useble 1.94" valves to use.
Yu can shave them down to 51cc if you want more cr than what 58cc gives you on a 350.
Thats 10.5:1 on a stock dished piston 350 with a thin head gasket.
drill and pin the rocker studs, install hi perf spring and you're all set.
601-450-416-081 305 casting.
you 882's and 441's have a large combustion chamber ( low cr even with milling) on a 350.
the 520's are old 283 heads, no accessory bolt holes on the ends.

Combine with a 750carb+ vic Jr+ .480 to .500" 250@.050" solid lifter cam+4.56's and a 3500stall converter and you're off to the races.

Someone will have a set of these heads or a complete 305 that you can rob the heads from, for low $$$$'s.
