CD Changer

I have a JVC CH-X470RF cd changer. It's a radio frequency changer, but I want to connect it directly to my radio. I have ordered a Pioneer DEH-P77DH, which has an aux input( for my purposes to control a CD Changer). Does the changer have to be a Pioneer or can I connect the JVC to the Pioneer receiver? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know about your case, but I will relate what happened to me. My Son had a Kenwood 10 disc CD changer in his truck with a Kenwood radio. The radio was stolen when his truck was broken into. He decided he wanted an MP3 player so he ordered one. I don't remember the brand, but it was CD changer compatable, but it was not a Kenwood. The plug for the Kenwood changer plugged right into the back of the new radio, but when we powered everything up the CD changer went up in smoke. Seems even though the plug is standardized, the wiring is NOT amongst these radios.

I eventually opened the CD changer up to see what the damage was. Turns out it fried a PC trace on the PC board. I soldered a jumper around the burnt portion and that CD changer has been in my truck for a couple of years working fine.

Thanks for the lesson learned the hard way. Those are the toughest. I didn't think it would be compatible with anything other than a JVC. But I wanted to find out if maybe by some chance it could. I would really hate to have my brand new $230 radio get burned up or the changer. I just was wondering before I tried to sell the changer, and put in a Pioneer(recommended to work with the radio). But, thanks again, 302/Z28.

if you don't use a jvc receiver you have to use the RF modulator to connect to the pioneer. for one thing your jvc cable shouldn't connect with the pioneer.
