how about rewording your question and describing what vehicle. if you own a Ford Super Duty 472 cu in engine you rebuild it and put it on a test stand for other treadheads to admire! ![]() have a nice day! |

If I were to have the vin and what is known about who built this vehicle in the first place I may have a fighting chance of finding the right parts for it..Calling it a deuce and half says to me it is a former military truck however those were built by someone under gov contract and share parts with civilian trucks of that same mfr..

ok i will try and find the vin for it & yes to the best of our knowledge it is a 1956 canadian army truck .Apparently there were two types gas & diesel & two types of diesel multi fuel and regular diesel ,ours is the regular .The engine is a big inline six can't find name plate as of yet . The years have taken there toll on the id plates .Ok found a piece of paper vin its a 56 gmc 113506262 ,hopefully that will help ,thanks again . Later bake

here in the USA, we have a tradition of taking the part off and taking it to the local NAPA store and putting it on the counter and saying 'got one?'. will that work up there? have a nice day! |

Thank you very much i apologize for lack of info ,the many layers of army green hides many things. I was looking on a cdn site that showed pictures of the trucks and it appears to be a 56 gmc .The only thing is its supposed to have a gas engine & ours has a big inline diesel 6 in it but i think this was a transplant at some time in its past because there is another set of motor mounts under the hood . The beast has 4 single rear drive tires not duals and it has 6 wheel drive which is kool . I am sorry for lack of more info but i,m giving you the best i can . Thanks fellas later bake
