cell phone ads make me laugh, I am one of the few that DO not own one and I like it just that way, I have plenty of harassment in my life. The phone at home is the right place for a phone, that way you are in control. Just my $0.02

garyroushkolb -- those are done with automated spamming programs. They hit thousands of sites and auto-post the same ad. We've recently installed a system that detects and catches most of them, but the occasional one will still slip through.

The problem is--you can't shut off everyone else's phone!!!!

While travelling, I dine out frequently. Someones' phone ringing in a restaraunt just frosts me.
I don't even take mine in with me.
My wife fully understands if I don't answer--I am either having supper, or driving in traffic.

Bryan

No cell phone here. People can't even walk into a store anymore without talking on a dang cell phone. Like its so hard to know what you went in the store to get in the first place. Idiot in front of me backed into me in the drive through at mcdonald when he decided he didn't want to go through anymore. He is lucky he didn't do any damage. I said if you got that damn cellphone out of your ear, you might have been able to look where the hell you were going. Pet peeve is people driving and talking on a cellphone, like there are not enough idiot drivers on the road in the first place without a cell phone to distract them adding to it.

Both my wife and I each have a "pay as you go" type cellphone, and very often, hers will end up tucked away in the diaper bag or purse beeping from the battery level getting low.
Mine stays on quite a lot since I took a volunteer position in the County EMA office, but I am more likely to hear and/or answer the County issued pager.
I have used roughly used 14 minutes on MY cellphone in the past month and a half.

I wife and I are also licensed amateur radio operator's and communicate that way for free for as long as we can talk. My volunteer organization completely revolves around amateur radio communication, as our equipment will work when there is nothing else on the air, we don't require commercial power to converse across town, the continent, OR around the world- from what my license allows me to do.
