Folks who send me those stupid things get this letter in reply after I delete the chain letter:

The Anti-Chain Letter

WITH STUPIDITY, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE

This letter has been sent to you to stop you from sending out chain letters. The original was written in the 3rd century A.D. by a deranged member of the Most Holy Post. That version vanished during the Spanish Inquisition (

I usually include a personal greeting with sentiments that reflect the senders and my own relationship. or

For more interesting reading about chain letters, their history, pyramid schemes and some humorous chain letters (that you can send out if you are that type of person), and some more anti chain letter letters suitable for any occasion go here:

The reading on that site is good for 2 or 3 minutes of entertainment.

"DO NOT IGNORE THIS LETTER. If you do, nuclear war is a definite possibility. You will develop psoriasis, gout, hemmhoroids, herpes, and/or a common cold. Some day you will definitely die if you ignore this letter!!!!!"

What they fail to mention is that even if you don't ignore this letter, you will still get herpes etc. from gargling a cauldron with Michael Jackson's hair..
