Hello to all,

Hey thanks so much for all the great compliments on my art, I truly am grateful. I thought you guys might find it interesting in seeing the process in steps that i do in drawing with chalk and markers. I first do a quick scetch on vellum paper, then I do a hard drawing on canson paper which is a heavyweight construction paper. I then marker in all the drawing, after that I start applying chalks, and rubbing them in with my fingers and using markers very quickly over that and then chalk again to create realisim effects it takes allot of practice so you don't burn the paper, it is a delicate process.. you will see in the photos the changes the take place in each phase. The chrome is a hard concept to explain... people always ask me how to do that with chalk..... I always say allot of practice.... lets just say it's a trade secret...LOL! it is allot of back and forth chalk.. marker,chalk etc... as you can see, I'm not finished yet.... I'm getting ready to start the chrome stage it's the funnest part, and then finally I will use very tiny hand brushes and add hilighting effects and more shading with chalks on the car. I will post when I'm finished. I might be finished today.

hate to break your heart, but that is a 1966 post 300 chevelle.

l know, l had one for years till l lost it in a divorce.
also dad and l raced and drove '66 chevelles since the 70's.

at last count we had 165 or so over 20 years till we got outta racing.

l still have the two door hard-top that was our first street/hot rod.

66 on the front fenders cut back. 67 front fenders come out.

tail lights are different also.

Hey thanks for the compliment. The size is 19 and half, by 12 and half. There really nice size. I get allot of complments on their size, the pics don't really show all the detail like I would like. You can check out my website dan-ingram.com and the pics there are better resolution. I've attached a pic for ya, but again the detail is not as clear as in person.

Nice work. Just curious, how long does it take from sketch to finished drawing? I've never had any patience with pastels or markers, but I do when working with oils. I've been painting in oils for 30 years, but never seemed to put the time in needed to become proficient in pastel/markers. Obviously you have, and are very good at it.

It usually takes about fifteen hours per finished product depending on size. I have viewed your art work it too is very good my friend.
