Change Wheel?

I have a 1973 Cadillac tilt, telescopic steering column and want to change the wheel itself. There are some after market wheels that fit the Cadillac that I have, but they lose the telescopic feature. Has anyone made a wheel to fit and still retain the tilt, telescopic? I've been told that cutting the center part of my wheel (without the spokes) and welding or bolting this to another wheel will work, but what about the lever for the telescopic feature? I would take the column out and exchange it for something else, but to remove it requires an awful lot of work, more than it's worth. I could really use help on this one.

Reread this question and realized to late he was talking about the telescope function of the column, so a correction was made.

This is from Julianos catalog:

oops! couldn't get that to work!

Just go to Julianos website and search "tilt adaptor". This came up with 6 hole or 9 hole tilt and tele adaptors

Good Luck
