I just changed starter on '73 Corvette 454 w/HEI and now car cranks and won't fire. Does either of the small wires have anything to do with this problem? Car started before starter change. I have power going into dist. but none at plugs but i only changed starter.

try switching the small wire to the other post on the starter. if your starter has 2 small post u might hooked that up wrong.... been there done that

Thanks, i tried that but no go. Traced power and it seems dist. module is done.

Possible that you didn't hook up a small wire..........goes from the "S" terminal of the starter to the coil, so that you have 12 volts while cranking the engine.. See if you have 12 volts at the coil, while cranking.

Checked the small wires [thanks] and even swaped them around. They were in the correct postion to start with.

With the key in the on postion the wire that goes into dist. cap/battery terminal is hot but it ends there so i'm guessing the module is bad. I have an extra so i'll try that, if not i swap out the coil with an extra. Again guessing, but it's something in dist.
