changing a Aod trans. over to a c6 trans.

I took out a Aod trans. & put in a c6 trans. the flex plate bolts up but after a while I broke the studs off the c6 torque converter. all the holes lined up perfect & I assumed there was no difference between them. Is there a difference to cause this? I built a 331 stroker that I bolted this up to. (sbf)

If the holes lined up, then they shouldn't have broken because of an alignment issue. You may have over-torqued them and caused a small crack that expanded into a break, or they may have already been cracked before you purchased it. Watch the torque rating and specs of fasteners and the applications. They may seem low, but they are on the money.
