I have a 57 chev auto column was told the shift tude and linkage would not match up to the trans. No big deal. I was told the covers or painted surfaces on the old column would pretty much slide off and could be put back on the other without much effort. Thanks for all the advice and help. It does sound involved. I know some of these cars cars came with auto trans. Were the engine mounts different on the cars with auto trans? The engine in this car is a late model engine about 1974. Would this engine have been originally set up with the side motor mounts?
