Changing rear end oil.
 

Hey guys,

How often should the gear oil be changed in a posi-traction
rear end? I replaced the gasket and oil about 2 years ago, but
don't drive much. 1990 GMC 4.3 with 225 miles.

Also, getting ready to change timing chain and gears. Do you
have any helpful hints?

I like to change it about every 50K miles, but I know people who have never changed it and have 200K miles on their cars and truck. I would use synthetic if it were mine. Royal Purple Max gear oil already has the posi trac additive in it.
