How long can run your vehicle if it is over charging, charging at 16 volts?

bad connection

The high meter readings could be caused by a bad connection of the battery cables and battery ground connections.
Clean and double check all connection to the battery. It's worth a try.
If that doesn't work have the system tested at your local Boys or Zone store.
