Speaking of C-clamp confusion I still get a kick out of this one.


There was someone here (can't remember who) a couple of years ago told us about the C-clamps his wife found real cheap at a yard sale. She got them really cheap because they were small but they were in really good shape and had numbers on them.


I wonder if maybe they were Starrett or Brown&Sharp, both outfits make REALLY good "C-clamps"!

I agree. HF vice grips are ones to avoid. I have never found a good substitute for the name brand Vice Grips and HF are particularly bad. Not even happy w/ Craftsmans. I'm a big HF fan but there are selected tools they don't do well.

I actually heard this one. "hey bossman, this here clamp won't hold nuthing while I spot weld". Well so much for the Starrett mic.
