Cheap brake and suspension upgrade firebird 67 w 454

Hello!
I usually study a lot more before I post a thread but I'm about to put my car toghether and don't want to do the mistake of put it all together and realize that I should have done something different while the engine was out or upgrade something something wrong. Also I'm short of time of waiting because it's season over here since some weeks ago.

So my car is a firebird 67 with a chevy 454 with 500hp, please skip comment of how wrong that is, with stock suspension and manual drum brakes. I'm going with 225/50 -15 tires. New rubber body mounts (aware of that I should have bought poly but rubber was only thing available in Sweden and I needed to gets my fenders on and hood on). Poly motor and tranny mounts.
I only drives the streets and drives pretty hard too, want to be able to beat or at least not be too much beaten of europeans and japs - who don't want that?

I have spent to much money on the car and engine already so I have minimum amount of cash to spend on suspension and brakes. I have no problem to do some work (read modifications) my self long as I don't have to spend a lot of money.

I want power disc brakes on all 4 wheels. Can I use parts from some european or regular japanese car (american cars is rare and exensive here) and just order new calipers, rotors and pads. I don't have afford with the kits.

What springs and shocks? Some other cheap or diy suspension upgrades? I will order poly bushings. I read something about guldstrand mod for camaro is that something to do?

Because I live in sweden I can't order all parts on different places because the shipping cost will be extreme.

thanks!

I would think that there would be a lot of American car parts in Germany since there were a lot of American cars there over the years.

At the very minimum you need front disk brakes.
