Well, I've been reading Dantwolakes posts and best way is to use right glue and spray it on. He does great work. What I don't want is to get the dash installed and have the vinyl start to lift. Way to much work to get the dash out afterwards! Also, the spray can stuff is kind of pricey if I want to do more later. This way I'll be set up to do it cheaper and better! Also, a while back I did a test panel trying to sculpt some foam underneath and the glue wouldn't hold very well. Can't remember what glue I was using other than it was a rattle can.
