Nitrous is the option for your set up. Fuel injectors can get expensive so I dont think that is an option but you need engine mods to increase injector size/lbs. Actually a flowmaster sounds real mellow and deep on pretty much anything that I've tried.
My DD is a 88 Mercury Tracer (wow!) with a 1.6L Mazda 4. A friend gave me a Flowmaster and the car had no muffler at the time. Presto! I fabbed up the rest of the exhaust to go with. It's real mellow sounding- not AT ALL like those stupid glass pack "performance" polished, overpriced, look-at-my-POS that can fly with my "cool" wing, mufflers!
