cheap project

I am looking for a new budget project car. It has to run but I am not interested in looking fancy just bare bones flat black paint and flat black steelies. I don't want to buy a rust bucket that needs major work before I can drive it but at the same time not spend over 6k quite the dilemma. I love the body style of the 55 chevy so anything that favors that style would be cool. Can you give me some suggestions for a full size hot rod that is not too popular and can be had for a few bucks but at the same time is cool enough to invest time in.
