Cheapest decent quality Black for Basecoat?
I'm going to be base and clearing our van. I paint regularly for a living (guitar finishing) but use mostly NC lacquer.
I'm guessing SPI will be a good economical clear with the quality I'm after. What about the color coat? Is there a good black base that won't break the bank. How many gallons should I realistically expect in painting a full size 15 pass van? The exterior paint (factory) is in decent condition just faded, I'm planning to scuff to 600 with my National Detroit, spray black, then spray 2 coats of clear. Ok plan?
