Cheapest way to get 300hp from 302

I just wanted to know, whats the cheapest way to get a mid-70's 302 which is stock with the exception of a 4-barrel intake and carb to the 300 hp mark?

Any help is appreciated.

the cheapest thing I can think of is to get a 1987-1992 HO 5.0 from a mustang, for like $400, and find a used supercharger kit for that engine for less than 2 grand.

sir there are many simple ways to make 300 hp in a 302. the way i would choose will be the cheapest using mostly stock parts. 1st see if you have flat top or dished pistons. if dished get aset of flat tops 289/302 same comp ht. if flat good to go. find a used set of 69/70 351 windsor heads. get them milled .060 and a good valve job. find a used edelbrock dual plane intake F-4B, ford ,shelby, perf rpm. and a small carb 475 cfm off of a 65 must. the cam .470/ 480 lift. dual pattern a better dur. and lift on the exhaust side stock exhaust will work but would be better with a set of small headers.

replace stock pistons with forged and just put nitrous on the top, easy and affective. just don't use it ALL the time

I wouldn't suggest using juice on an engine if you just want a 300 horse street car. For one, using juice on the streets is illegal (at least where I live, but I would imagine it is universal). Second, you can build it up like the other posts said and hit your mark without hitting a button or re-filling a tank.
