Check Out This Accident I Saw On My Way To Work Today

That's a 40th Anniversary Edition Mustang GT convertible.

I passed this on my way to work this morning, there were no cops or ambulances there so I figured it must have just happened. I turned around, went back, and pulled off a side street and walked down to see if there was anything I could do to help (perhaps get the driver out of the trees.)

There was a hand full of other people there, all carrying digital cameras or video cameras, my help wasn't needed because the accident happened about 5 hours prior and the driver WALKED AWAY. The telephone pole was broken and it looked the mustang was the only thing holding it together. I didn't get the whole story, but the guy must have been flying, you can see where he lots control about 150 feet up the road, thats where the skid patterns begin.

Is that some crazy stuff of what? I think I'll buy a Mustang next time I need a car. Since the guy was ok, I decided it was ok to take some pictures. But I took mine while I was in my car so I didn't look like the many douchhe bags standing around the wreck taking pictures.

See the white car in the last picture? Ok, look to the left you'll see in angled dirt embankment, that's what the mustang hit to get air born.

I saw a similar accident (after the fact) in town once where a car (chevette or something) got hit at an intersection flipped on its roof and hit a light pole. It wrapped around the pole and spun around just like that stang. It was amazing because there was a tree about two feet from the pole and not a scratch on it. The car came to rest around the pole between it and the tree. That car was only doing about 35 mph. Unfortunately I don't think they got out of it alive. It doesnt take much when you crack these cars in a spot not designed to take impact. They may be great head on but not from the roof or floor.

Make your way to salvage and pick up what's left cheap. That motor should still be good.

Guarantee that motor is trashed. My brothers Father In Law had an 85 Vette, loaned it to a friend when he came in town. The guy got out with some lady in it and they were flying and got sideways in a turn,at the very moment,an Expidition rounded the corner and killed both of them in the Vette. My brother got the car to his house on a flatbed because he was wanting to salvage what he could, the engine was destroyed, and the point of impact was the r/t rear and r/t door area.Impacts of that magnitude will break, twist, crack and shatter everything.

I'd say excessive speed (duh) and alcohol were a factor.....

He's lucky, if that wasn't a convertable the roof would have crushed him.

I bought the paper, it had no info in it. Apparently they only do the accident reports in the Wednesday edition or something like that.
