It's simply a "Cobra" I don't know these cars but that is all I understood it to be, with an overhead cam motor it looked like. He had said it had a blown head gasket or something and it sat for a while, I am suspecting that during that time it was outside with the top down. This was the owner before the guy he is buying it from. The guy he is buying it from has only owned it a few months. I am thinking he bought it the same way as my friend, with the top down and once he put it up and found that he couldn't even sit in it without vomiting from the mildew smell, he is selling it off.

Yeah all the 96 and newer V8 mustangs got the overhead cam 4.6L V8 engine. The Mustang GT's got the 4.6L single cammer that was first came out in the Lincoln Towncar in 1991. The Cobras got a DOHC 4.6L that first came out in the 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII. To be honest, as much as I have a fondness for the durability of the early modular motors, they're all rather gutless in the torque department compared to what most of us are used to, but you have to remember that they only displace 281 cubic inches.

The 4.6L DOHC really comes alive in the top end though, where the single cammer is pretty gutless across the board. A set of appropriate gears in a Cobra (nothing less than 4.1:1) and they'll come alive in a big way.
