Post chev 250, 292 heads same?

Can anyone tell me if all the intake and exhaust ports are the same between a chev 250 straight 6 and a 292? I have located a 292 to put in my boat and need to know if the water cooled manifold off the 250 would fit.

years ago I had one of those engines and put it in a 63 chevy II,from what I can remember the difference was in the longer crankshaft for the 292.I used an aftermarket 4bbl intake for a 250 I got at a swapmeet,so I would say the manifolds are the same

Clifford (http://www.cliffordperformance.com/), the 6-cylinder specialists, sell the exact same manifolds for 248 (250), 292, and 302 engines.

The 292 will bolt right in. The exhaust will fit from your old engine, along with all of your original accessories. Mercruiser used 292s at one time and even used q-jet carbs on them,if I remember right they all used the same intake. They used an aluminum adapter to put 2bbls on the 250s.
