You would only have to change the cam if it was a reverse rotation motor

Ayuh,... If it's a Standard production marine motor,..
It's pretty much Exactly what Chevy was putting into Trucks of that same Vintage...

If it's from say Mercruiser Racing division,...
It'll just be a Hot Rod version with probably forged internals...

Reverse rotation marine engines are used in twin engine boats.

Not likely on a ski boat. Ski boats came with a low perf "stock" base engine and a hi perf "Magnum" version.

If the motor is the high perf "350 Magnum" it has a high perf cam in it.
Often its either the old corvette 350-350hp L-46 cam 222-222-.450-.460 114 or the cam from the 350 L-98 TPI camaro motor. 203-210-.405-.415 115 (approx specs)
Some 350 Magnums came with a cool cast iron Hi rise intake manifold (marine cast version of the old 350 Z/28, LT-1 aluminum hi rise.

Later marine engines came with hyd roller versions of these same grinds.

Some (but not all) late versions may or may not have a reverse rotation water pump. That's different from a reverse rotation engine.

What is the casting number of the cylinder heads (under the valve cover)?
Does it have the high rise intake manifold?
