Chevelle 4L80E Transmission Spedo Hook Up

I have a question about using a mechanical spedo in my chevelle along with the 4L80E Transmission. Can i use the stock spedo in my chevelle and hook it to the 4L80E? And if it can how do i do it or who can do it?

Just to give some back ground info. It's 1972 Chevelle. I have a 6 liter Chevy to put in and just looking for a transmission. I was thinking of using a th350 or 400, but with the fancy fuel injected motor i all ready have the wiring and computer that will also control the 4L80E (and i think 4L60E too) so why not go the extra step? Any options opinions on this would be helpful and the spedo is a large deciding factor right now.

Thanks All

John

I had the same problem with my car. Bowtie Overdrives sells a box that takes the digital signal from the 4L80E and converts it to rotations in a small electric motor that hooks up to the speedo cable. Its called Cable X try this site. http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com/hot/

the 4L80E is not setup for a mechanical speed-O if you did not know that.

Visit this page for mechanical speed-O conversion. the conversion is not cheap to purchase

4L80e speed-O
