chevelle outer rocker contour

Can anyone tell me if a 69 chevelle outer rocker has a straight, or slight bow to the contour edge looking down from the top, where it meets the door bottom and lower quarter? I have mine installed and noticed they both have a bowed contour? They don't look bent, and I never really noticed before, I think they should be straight as an arrow, any help appreciated!

doesnt matter

The qtr panel goes over that any way right? As long as the qtr lines up with the door who cares what shape it is . Its aftermarket? An old body man i learned from long ago used to say you cant see both sides of the car at the same time?

lol, true statement, but, the bottom door would need to be arched to match and that would involve lotsa bondo and ruin the bodyline.

I just checked out another outer rocker, and indeed they have a slight bow inside to outside, on that crease under the door. It's not straight as an arrow!

#1 Check your parts fit on the origional. Then match it or better it. Whatever it takes.
I spent 2 days trying to make an aftermarket fender fit the aftermarket headlight door, and grill, and hood, and door, all at the same time. on a 67 chevelle.
I ended up having to cut the fender into about 3 pieces, and re-shaping it then welding it back together. (was supposed to be the best you can get)

You would think that with the popularity of the Chevelle, they could get these part right.

Nothing seems to go together correctly on these car swhen it comes to re-pops

Had the same issues with a few of the 59 Chevy parts as well.
Seems most of those parts were all 95% the size of actual original parts.
