Chevelle SS gauge options?
The dash I bought for my 71 velle came with 70 idiot light gauge pod(green instead of white numbering).
The official gauges are very expensive, has anyone ever used the guts out of a modern gauge and fitted it to a correct faceplate so it looks stock but is really say an autometer gauge? If so who makes just the faceplates? |

aftermarket guages
Take a look at how I did mine and see how you like it. It can be done with the old housing and lots of dremel work, plus fabricating some brackets but I think it will look ok.

Hey- that instrument panel looks great. I thought about doing my dash with aftermarket gauges- I imagined it would turn out looking a lot like the one you've done. Did you just leave the original clear lense off? What size gauges did you use for the speedo and tach?
It looks sharp- |
