chevy 10 bolt rear question

I have a 65 el camino with stock rear end from what i gather its an 8.2" 10 bolt right? due to monetary restrictions i will keep it in place the guidance i received was to switch to 3.70 gears i would also like to run a posi unit so 2 questions what parts do i need to get to do this and if im not on the right track what kind of rear end set up would you recommend for this 10 bolt i want to run a ZZ430 (430 hp/tq) with the powerglide

It would be an 8.2" unless someone at some point swapped in the rather rare late '72 8.5" 10-bolt. Easy picture chart to ID the 10-bolt rears is at www.novaresource.com Go to site map and click on axle codes, pics are on that page to determine what it is by casting identifying shapes.

You'll need gears, a set-up kit with bearings, and a 3 series posi unit. I'd recommend an Eaton or Yukon Duragrip posi unit; Yukon, Motive, Auburn, or Richmond gears.
