Chevy 12 bolt posi w/ 411 gears

I have a few questions and concerns.
I've had my car for 25 years now with no rear end problems (67 camaro with a "supposed" 69 Z28camaro rear). recently I've noticed it feels like the rear slips in and out of posi ??, mainly after it's been driven and it's hot. It mainly does it when slow turning in a parking lot.
I pulled the cover off thinking an inspection and good cleaning and lube change (with posi additive)would help. Here's my question, how loose should the clutch pack springs be? when I turn the wheels forward and back the springs flex pretty easily. They don't feel loose just weak or light. My plan is to run this rear for another season or two before I switch to 373 gears.
(this is a weekend cruiser, no racing)
another question, can I put 373 gears in my 411 carrier? a friend said he was'nt sure that could be done. Any idea on cost for a gear change and a rebuild of the rear? one shop told me it would be $1000, that seemed high to me considering the gears and seals and bearings are'nt that expensive.
any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Ted

Want to make a trade?
I got a 12 bolt rear with 4:10 gears on a 3 series carrier and using a spacer between to ring gear and the carrier and I been driving my 69 chevelle with these gears for 30 years. I had to loosen the clutch pack because every time I make a turn it would chatter a lot.
BTW: I don't think you can put 373 on a 4 series carrier.

You can put a special thin ring gear 3.73 set on a 4 carrier.

Get a carbon faced clutch set for the diff, and a spring kit. It will act like new.

Gears 250
Bearings-seals 150
Clutch 150
Spring kit 50
Lube 25
Labor 350
Comes to 975 without tax.

Quick Performance has been running Adds for new Eaton style Posi, Gears & Install kit for $575. I think these are Yukon brand which are very good parts.

Yukon has 2 install kits, one with Timken bearings and one with bearing of unknown quality. Dont buy the cheaper kits.
I've used many of the DuraGrips and have only had one fail that was in a drag car with slicks. THe Yukon gears set up nice and are OE quiet.
