chevy 1983 k10 swap

I own a 1983 k10 chevy pickup with a 5.7 350, 4 spd manual transmission and an Np 208 transfer case. I am currently in the process of buying a 1988 3500 chevy with a 7.4 454 and 4 wheel drive. It has a single wheel axle with dual wheel spacers. The transmission in the 88 is shot. What my plans are is I would like to take the 83 body and put it on the 88 frame. then use the 454 w/ 4spd transmission and the 88 transfer case (not sure which one it is) with the front and rear from 88 minus the wheel spacers. Plan B is to simply swap the 350 with the 454 and rebuild or just repair and fix the shocks, axles frame etc... My question is what are your opinions because I have the tools and equipment to do both jobs but I also want a little more spd than towing. Also what parts I don't use from both trucks I wheel part or scrap.

I have an idea of what you need to do...but there are lots of guys on this site that know buckets more than I order to get their attention...maybe ask this question in the engine/transmission section of the forum...that would probably get their attention more than in the body and exterior section. I see this is a first or second post so I understand that your new here...Welcome to the site...and trust me, just move this to the right section and answers will come your way...I checked because it was in the body section, so if you ever need help or information on that part of doing a vehicle, look me up, I'll be happy to help.

Again...welcome to the forum.
