chevy 250 mercruiser "12 port head"
Hidy ,Truckeez in Texas.Im messin around with 153's 4cyl's and 250-92's a while back a guy in inliners told me that some mercruiser 250's had divided intake ports,every one else new no such thing,yesterday i spy a late model mercruiser 181 4 cyl "8 port" with divided ports head also used in clark-hyster forklifts on ebay. does anyone know if some later mercruiser 250 heads also had divided intake ports? i want to do a roll yer own direct port fuel injection 250-or 292

Dunno about Mercruisers but Duggan engineering in Reservoir Victoria Australia have been making 8 port 4 cyl and 12 port 6 cyl Chev heads for years, they made some really good 'roll over' heads for sbc's in the early 80's.

250 chevy 12 port head
Ak Miller just croaked so ill have to have a sayance to ask him ,does the austrailian --Holden head interchange with a chevy head i have seen strange holden ****-CROSS FLOW on ebay australia for straight 6 HOLDEN-GM of australia

No, the Holden has different bore spacing etc, largest is bore the 186/202 at 3.625 I think the 250 Chev is 3.875 from memory. If those Holden heads were designed by the late Phil Irving (of Repco Brabham f1 and Vincent motorcycle fame) they are rare and VERY desirable.
Contact Duggan balancing in Newlands rd Reservoir to see if they still have any of their alloy 12 port Chev heads. Popular Hot Rodding did a few articles on there stuff in the 70s/early 80s. |
