Post Chevy 283 engine
I really need help here. I'm restoring a 58 Chevy Apache pick-up. I've got a 58 283 engine I'm putting together. It's been rebuilt to factory specs, and I'm getting the bolt-on items now. My problem lies in the crankcase breather pipe. Mine is missing, and I have been unable to locate one. GM Restoration parts shows one in their catalog, but they can't supply. What I really need to know is this: Does anybody know if this breather pipe contains a PCV valve in it? Or is it just a pipe that vents out from the back of the block? Anybody out there that can answer my questions, I'll one step closer to getting my truck on the road.
