Chevy 350

HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT YEAR MY CHEVY 350 ENGINE IS? I GOT IT FROM A FRIEND BUT HE DON'T EVEN REALLY KNOW IF IT'S A 350 BUT, CAME OUT OF A CAR AND THEN PUT IN A TRUCK.

You need the block casting number and the block's suffix code. Casting # is on driver's side rear of engine, on the pad at the top where the transmission bolts too. Suffix code is on pass side front of block.. Look in front of pass side head, theres alittle machined pad there, up towards the intake some.

You can do a little leg work yourself here, and if you have problems, come back to the board with numbers.

Moving this to basics.
