Chevy 350 block stamp
Similar to one of your members, I too have a 10066038 with a boss number I cannot decifer. 1M07108VP. I understand the M is for Mexico, the 07=July, the 10=day 10. Do not know what the 8VP represents, or the 1 before the M. Engine has Vortec heads with three saw blades on the front, either 10239906 or 12558062 and 8 bolt intake manifold. Was told it was a truck engine. Help with the 8VP and the year of the block. Thanks

I don't find any "VP" listed. In fact, nothing starting with a V.

8vp
Found on the back of the block, above the crankshaft, a half circle with pointer facing east, and a full clock like circle, with the pointer pointing south east. To the right was the numbers 07. Any clues? Thanks

1m0710 8vp
Found out that the 10066038 is a replacement 350 block. The seller purchased the block, made in Mexico, added Vortec heads, a roller cam and lifters to get 330 hp, changed the rods to PM and the pistons to silicone coated. He also replaced the crankshaft to accommodate a 12" marine flywheel. Added a high rise vortec intake and brass freeze plugs. The 8 VP could stand for 8 passenger van as this is a truck and marine plant. What do you think? Thanks, Jerry
