chevy 350 intake manifold question

I'm replacing the stock intake manifold on my late '70s chevy 350 small block with a highrise 4 bbl. The stock manifold has a double vent fitting on it (valve cover vent and 350 Trans vent ). The new manifold does not a hole on it for this fitting. What do I do?

Drill and tap a hole in the plenum under the carb base.........or, get a spacer with a fitting in it.

Does the carb have a large vacuum port of the rear?

The carb is an Edlebrock 4bbl 1405. The carb is on order.

Depending on the intake manifold it should have a fitting behind the carb on one of the runners that will work, if not then you can use the large port at the on the back of your new carb when it gets there.

What kind of manifold is it? I've got an Edelbrock Performer RPM, and it has a fitting behind the carb. I put the piece from the stock '73 manifold in there, and use it for the brake booster and trans. modulator.
