chevy 350 to trans am motor mounts
i have a 77 trans am and a recently purchased chevy 350 from an 80-85 truck to put in it, are there any websites that would have the correct motor mounts id need that would fit my motor and bolt into the frame? thanks

A technique I have used but not on a trans am is to bolt the motor to the tranny, place it on the crossmember and bolt it in, then lower the motor (WITH the Chevy motor mounts) down, Where they land is where you drill holes. You may be lucky and there will be holes pre drilled, going from a B.O.P set up to a chevy shouldn't be that far off.

Use Camaro mounts....same frame

Usually this is a bolt in swap.
I swapped a 301 out of a '79 Firebird and replaced it with a 400 chevy. For whatever reason the passenger side of the crossmember was drilled for chevy motor mounts and the drivers side was not. Do as suggested, bolt the upper and lower motor mounts to the block and lower the engine into the car. If the appropriate holes are there, its a bolt in deal. Otherwise, scribe the location carefully and drill new holes. |
