Post Chevy 4.3 to 5.7 swap

I would like to swap my 4.3 for a 5.7 in my 88 Silverado. I know it is basically a simple swap but was wondering about the computer, prom, throttle body, etc. Any info would be appreciated...Albert

not sure about the swap as far as the fuel injection goes? but friend of mine took the tbi off of an 88 silverodo and put it on his 89 camaro that might be where you get the intake as far as the computer,i would pull it when you get the intake im sure that there is a difference in the computers have you thought of building the 4.3 to be different if your not on a budget but, if we wernt all on budgets we would all be driving aroun 10sec street cars? happy X-MAS

I preformed the same operation on my 89 Chevy pick up. The engine mounts have to be changed from 4.3 to 5.7. Also the exhaust Y pipe has to be changed. Fan shroud also has to be swapped. You must obtain MAP senors and wiring from 5.7. I had a hard time trying to get the truck to run smoothly. I changed back to carb. Now runs like a dream.

i just did the same swap in my 93' chevy single cab, to from 4.3 to 5.7 i pulled out all the computer stuff and went to carb. instead of TBI or fuel injection. i also had to get another 700r4 with the throttle cable on it b/c if you leave the electronic one in you will only have 1st and 2nd gars i think, i know its only 2 gears that you will have. but yes, you do have to change motor mounts, shroud, and thats basically all i did very easy swap to do. I love it now i went from running 15.70's with my 4.3 to now running low 11's. And i want even more. Later
