Chevy 409 Engine build
I thought it still might be interesting to many of you on here.
I've just finished the first two videos in a series building a 409 with a few modern touches. Original heads weren't available so we used Edelbrock's new 409 aluminum heads and painted them for a more stealth look. We also stroked it with a big block 396 crank to get 440 cubic inches and used an Edelbrock dual quad induction setup. The final dyno numbers were 505 horsepower and 507 ft/lbs of torque without doing anything too radical. I'd appreciate your opinions. You can find it here: http://streetmuscleaction.com/engines/440-chevy-409/ Thanks |
