Check out HERE, it seems there's good info on the swap. may have info, as will the various LS engine sites. Google is your friend.

Just a "FYI", a lot of guys run the Edelbrock p/n 7118. It is an MSD ignition controller that also comes w/a dual plane intake for the 5.3L intake for something like $650.

With the carb, MSD controller, headers and the stock cam, this deal will make over 320 HP, and about 350 ft/lb. With a cam, you will make more HP obviously. You'll need springs to go w/the cam.
