I found a 2002 Chevy vortec 8.1L with trans and I want to throw it in my 57 Bel aire. I want to completely rework the engine and make some serious power with it. Think it's a good idea? I want the fuel injection and I'll probably supercharge or turbo the thing as well. Any clue on where to buy performance parts for these things? Any way to get rid of the auto trans and put a beefed up 6 speed behind it? Any help would be much appreciated.
Sell it to a boat guy. Very little reasonably priced speed stuff for this engine. It may look like a big block chevy but NOTHING fits from previous Marks.
Been there with several customers...
Thanks for the heads up, know any affordable big block big power fuel injected options? I was planning on running a 10-71 roots on a 502 or a 540 but i don't want the cooling issues and I'd prefer the ease reliablitly of fuel injection.
