Chevy astro 4X4 Torsion bar

Anyone know if there are any replacement systems forthe torsion bar syspension on a 94' astro all wheel drive minivan? Im not very fond of the system.

Or anyone know where i might find replacement torsion bars? I'm not very good at finding parts on the web .

HEY 68:
If you noddle around on Google Search there is an Astro web site. We had about 8 or 9 Astro's and liked them ... GOOD LUCK... THERESA

A good friend of mine had an AWD Astro. He loved it. Got around better, in the snow, than a lot of 4x4 pickups.

I'd think that they would still be available throught GM. Not too many in the salvage yards around these parts.

I love the van , was just wondering if there was a cheaper option to the torsion bar. The van has the model with adapters at the end of the torsion bar that goes into the cross member. From what i understand GM only sells the new style so I would have to get GM''s conversion kit for the van. In doing so I would have to replace both torsion bars and from what I understand this would run around $500 . For that much around here I would rather place a nice 350 under the hood of my truck .
