Chevy Bellhousing #s help please

I got a cast iron GM bellhousing & flywheel in the trunk of an old chevy. The bolt pattern is same as SBC aluminum bells, but I need help identifying the correct application.
Bellhousing #s are: 3925505 A272 GM
Flywheel #s are: 873458N 0217

Any light you can shed on the application would be helpful.

Thanks,
49 T&C

Don't know about the numbers, but does it have mounting pads on the side?

If so, it's from a 55-57 Chevy or Chevy truck 55-59...............

I think they went from cast iron to aluminum around 62 or 63

Stick-shift Chevy trucks used the iron side-mount bells at least until '69, maybe even '72.

Was not aware of that............The reason I said 62 was that Chevy cars went to an aluminum powerglide half way through the year, so I was assuming.............

You know what they say about assume................makes an a** out of "u" and "me"
